Introduce yourself.

Hi all. I am new to this blog and I am wanting to introduce my self and hope that everyone else will introduce themselves as well. My name is Jamie and my husband Gavin self surrendered to FCI MORGANTOWN on Oct/2008. He is in unit Gerard. So far it's not as bad as we expected. We do have good communication. Which is good for our two little girls. He will be coming home Nov 29 of this year. So for now we are just trying to get by. I am hoping to go visit him at the end of this month. We have only been able to visit him once and that was the weekend after Christmas. I am relieved to hear that his time in there is not so bad. We used to watch the real "prison" shows on t.v. before he went in and to be honest I was so scared for him. Luckily Morgantown is nothing like that. I just cant wait till all this is behind us, So we can move on with our lives. I am looking forward to getting to know all of you.

Jamie,

I am Lee Ann. We are in NC and Mike has been at M'town since April, he is in Carlson. He has a release date of October 16 this year, we are hoping for HWH in august. I will send you the roster which has everyones info. If you want to be included just email me off blog as I do not put that info on here. We have 3 children 18, 11, and 8 two boys and a girl. We are skipping valentines and going up the weekend of the 21 in March. There will be a group of us up there then. We are also planning a trip for fathers day. Kim H. is planning that one. We did it last year and had a great time. That was when the group only had 3 or 4 of us. There are some pictures posted on a previous post. Talk with you soon.

I am Debbie. My fiance finally got to Morgantown in July 08. Between us, we have four children, ages 22, 12, 10 and 7. Greg is in the Byrd unit. His release date is Feb 2013. So, we still have some time to go. I am going Valentine's weekend, the weekend of the 31st in March and sometime in between March and Father's day I will visit. Of all the places Greg has been in since April 08, Morgantown is by far the best! ((HUGS))

Hi Jamie - My name is Sonya and my husband Terry has been at M'town since June '08. I am glad to see that your husband will be coming home to his family this year. Love the picture! I have a grown son and my husband has a grown son so I'm on my own and miss him so much. This is a time when you find out how strong you really are. You will survive and the women in this group are a great source of comfort and support. Lee Ann was there for me when Terry SS'd last year and it really helped me.
God Bless

My name is Kim and my husband Sam ss'd in Jan. He has a little while to go well really a long way to go. We are fortunate to live about 30 mins from Morgantown so we are able to visit every weekend. That said I got sick this weekend and did not get to go down today, So for everyone visiting next weekend we may be their everday or at least Friday, and Sunday. I can't go Monday because I teach and we are not off school. I have two children a boy 8 soon to be 9 and a little girl 5 soon to be 6.

Hello Jamie, my name is Susan and my husband David ssd in Jan. We have two boys David 8 and Henry 18mos. We are all trying to cope. David has met some great men who have helped his stay at Mtown a bit better. Unfortunately, we live 10 hours away and are not able to visit as much as we would like. We will be visiting Valentine's weekend and I can finally meet in person some of these great women. Stay strong and hope to meet you soon. Take Care.

Hi Jamie, my name is Dana and my husband Paul SS'd at the beginning of this month. We have 2 boys, 1-2 yr. old and 1 who is 9 mths. ---You can't miss us when were are there visiting! We live about 3 hrs away so we are able to visit about every other weekend. (Hopefully 3xs per mth if were able) Times are tough but being a part of this group of woman will help you get through everything. All of the guys eventually adjust to their surroundings and they attempt to make the best of their situation. Know that they are ok where they are even if it is not next to you in bed every night. They be home eventually...we just need to make it until then. If you ever need anything, please don't hesitate to call. I'm on the roster. :) Try to stay positive and keep yourself busy. Do all those things that you "never had time for" and the time will pass a little easier.
Take care!
