HR 1475 has been referred. They will continue this once they have enough sponsors. They are hoping to get 200, they are at 12 counting Rep. Davis. Call your Reps. in Congress and urge them to sponsor this bill.

I was told by Danny Davis's office that to help your loved ones in West Virginia you have to contact reps from that state. West Virginia seems to be the last one on the band wagon. Probably because alot of their revenue comes from the Federal and State prisons.

Unless you are a registered voter in WV, that will not do any good. We all have to try and convience our own senators, that we elected, to co-sponsor this. I have contacted senators from other states before about co-sponsoring bills. They only are interested in the opinions of their voters. One point that I thought of earlier today was, why would they want them out sooner if the facility is in their state? They get about $42,000 per year, per inmate. Plus they create jobs in their state. We start letting them out early and it will effect the economy in that area. I would not point that out when you call your represnatives for co-sponsorship. What states DO NOT have federal prisons? Those might be the states we need to find people to call. Just some thoughts. We need more than 11 co-sponsors to get this through.
