Go to www.thomas.gov and search bill number HR 1475. It has been refered to the judiciary committee of the house. It has 11 co-sponsors, they looking for 200, per FedCure. It has been introduced. This is not an over night process, for non-stimulus bills. If it makes it through committee and get voted on in the house, then it will have to go through the same process in the senate. I know the guys are hearing a lot of rumors. They have to be patient.
The newest rumor accordingto Mike is that HR 1475 has been sent to the sentancing commission and that they are going to implement it without the congresss voting. They supposedly have 100 sponsors. After research on thomas.gov. the status has not changed. It is still refered. It still only has 11 sponsors. I know that if you try to correct the guys, they don't believe us. But, ask what their information resource is? Another inmate with no more access to information than they have.
Has anyone heard this one? HR 1475 has been taken over by the sentancing commission. They are just going to go ahead and implement the bill, so it doesn't have to be voted on. It also has over 100 sponosors. According to Mike this is the current rumor, at least in Carlson. I went to Thomas.gov and it still has 11 sponosors and is still in committee. Because this effects title 18, I doubt that it can go forward without being adopted by the congress. I know the guys need stuff to hope for. But try to keep them grounded, so they aren't so disappointed when the crazy stuff doesn't happen. Could this bill get passed, absolutely! But it has to go through the process, and probably won't happen till early summer at the earliest. If you go to the house justice committee, they have a very full agenda and this is probably one of the less important issues as far as the country as a whole is concerned. It will be adressed, but the economy stuff will probably come first. Be patient.

It is FedCure's argument to the commision. It does not say anything about the bill passing but it is a good read!
