First Visit

Hi Everyone,
This is my first blog, and our first visit with my husband this weekend. This has been a rough first of the week. I have a raging sinus infection that I let go too long. I had to go to doctor yesterday. Sunday my temp was 103. With 3 young ones at home and my hunny gone I have to get better quick. Our first visit with my hunny will be this weekend. I am still a little nervous that everything will go ok. We have to travel over 300 miles/about 5-6 hours. Something I have never done by myself and with never with a baby. So, pray hard girls. Thanks for everyone's advice and any more is well appreciated. Hope all of your visits this weekend will be happy and uneventful. P.S My hubby left in Sept. when our son was about 4 months and now he is 9 months. Been too long. Take care and God Bless!

Hi Shellie, My name is Susan and I will be visiting my Husband this weekend too. He self-surrendered in Jan. and this will be my first visit also. You and your family will be in my prayers for a safe trip. Take care and maybe we might run into each other.

Hi Shellie and Susan,

My name is Becky and I will visiting Friday, Saturday and Monday this weekend. My husband self surrendered in Sept. also. Have a great visit, and I will be praying for a safe trip for you all. Remember, don't stand outside and talk. I was talking to a lady I know last weekend outside on the sidewalk, and my husband was waiting to get checked out. He said the guards were watching us very closely. But don't be nervous, it isn't a bad experience. Things usually go very smoothly...Take care, Becky

Shellie,
I understand all too well how it is being sick with 3 kids especially when you have a younger one. I hope you feel better real soon. I was sick as crap right before my last visit on new year's, it was terrible but I managed to get better a day before I left. I will be sending my # in an email, call if you need anything or just want to talk. Be safe!

Shellie,

We travel about 500 miles to visit, Mike has been there since April last year. I have been 4 times and the kids have been twice. We will go again in March. Take your time, plan lots of "potty" breaks. I found that if I stopped about every 2 hours and let them run for a few moments it made the next 2 hours much better. Kinda like traveling with pets, LOL. It is keeping the three of them from arguing over stupid stuff I find the challenge. I know there is a lot of anxiety, but it will be good. Sunday will be sad at the end, just take your time going back, you may need more breaks going back just to deal with the emotions. When we went the first time I asked for late check out at the hotel and we left visitation around 12, went back to the hotel had lunch and I let the kids swim for about an hour. Just to give you a transition and deal with the emotions. Do you have the roster? If not let me know and I will send it to you, please make note of the phone numbers of those that are traveling also this weekend, so should you need assistance you will be able to contact someone. Have a great visit!

Hi Shellie,
Welcome to our family. We are a close group of ladies very blessed to have each other through, what is, probably the most difficult times of our lives. I can't imagine going through this with young children. Please know you are in my prayers, and here if you need to talk. 336-512-9863
